Surely they'll create a new engine, one hopefully capable of handling cars, if they plan on releasing the new game on next-gen consoles?Īs for the landscape being unsuitable for cars, big pimped out pickup trucks, tracked vehicles, dune-buggys, motorbikes etc should be handle the terrain pretty well. Now this is controversial, but if vehicles were added in a similar fashion to how they were done in Fallout Tactics, it would work out pretty well.Īny thoughts or comments? Anyone think I am a complete fool for hoping for vehicles? Dont get me wrong i dont want vehicles all over the place, they should be rare and a very big deal when you come across them, but NPC's should make good use of them too. If vehicles are to be in Fallout 4 then they should be widely used by NPC's. Very very few NPC's use horses in skyrim and mounted combat doesn't exist. Horses are the vehicles of skyrim (horses would also fit in pretty well in the Mojave wasteland given its cowboy-western theme) but they are pretty damn unrealistic in the sense that only the Player ever really uses them. While walking to explore new areas is fun, walking back on forth across the same route several times to get to different quest locations can be very boring.Īlso its also a little unbelievable that with all the cool salvaged pre-war technology present in the game, from androids, to advanced tesla armor and energy weapons, as well as functional helibirds (present in both New Vegas and FO3 ), that no one had been able to make a working car, truck or motorbike? seriously?Īlso if vehicles are implemented in game, I hope they are done better that in Skyrim. I hate fast traveling between locations, it breaks the immersions with loading screens, but the game would take far too long if you walked between every location. Entering Meltdown triggers Reactions up to one Awareness length away to take effect.Ī fusion-powered sedan from the Corvega brand of Chryslus Motors.Ī Corvega brand coupe that was known for being economic and family-friendly. Cars that explode are left on the battlefield for the remainder of the game, and their Health becomes 0. However, if a car's Health is reduced to 0 before the round ends then Meltdown is cancelled. A model that is touching a car when it explodes takes 5 physical damage instead, has its armor reduced by 1, and is Stunned.Ī car explodes at the end of the round it entered Meltdown regardless of any Detonation check successes. All models within 2" of an exploding car take 4 physical damage, rolling an additional Damage and two Armor Reduction Effect Dice. The Armor Dice is rolled again, and if the result is equal to or lower than the total amount of damage done to the car by all sources it explodes. If the result is lower than or equal to the amount of damage done, the car enters Meltdown and the player immediately performs a Detonation check. When a car that has at least 1 Health takes damage, the player rolls a 12-sided Armor Dice. If struck, cars may enter Meltdown, possibly exploding and damaging nearby units. All cars have 5 Health, 2 physical and energy Armor Rating, and immunity to radiation damage.
